As a non-profit, The Grevey Foundation is sustained by its friends — individuals, families, corporations and businesses that support our mission to make the world a better place for children. We are deeply grateful for your past support and hope we can count on you to help us make this our best tournament ever. Whether you participate as a sponsor, individual player or in-kind donor, we can’t thank you enough!
The Grevey Foundation
The Grevey Foundation is one of many small private charities that provide essential support to thousands of communities throughout the country. Our mission is to build a brighter future for children through education, community activities and improved living standards. Most of the money we raise is put to work right here in our own community, however, we support programs that provide critical aid to children in other parts of the world, too.
The Charity Golf Classic is the foundation’s largest and most important fund raising event. It attracts a wide variety of golfers, including leaders in the area’s business, sports, government and social communities. Now in its 22nd year, many of our players and sponsors have been with us since the beginning.
The net proceeds from this single annual event have helped the foundation:
• Prepare Fairfax County Public School students for the future by funding vital technology initiatives not provided for in the state or local education budget.
• Give a hand-up to hundreds of disadvantaged children and teenagers in Washington D.C. by funding scholarships, mentoring programs and after school community activities.
• Keep at-risk Fairfax County middle-schoolers safe and engaged by sustaining the foundation’s Sports & Life Skills summer camp for seven straight years.
• Create hope for orphaned and abandoned children with HIV/AIDS and tuberculosis by donating to a well-managed NGO, where even the smallest monetary donation literally changes lives.
Grevey’s is owned by former NBA shooting guard Kevin Grevey, who helped the Washington Bullets win their “miracle” championship in 1978. Kevin and his wife, Sandy, have created a relaxed and welcoming pub where good food, affordable prices and great conversation have come together for three decades.
